Privacy Policy

This policy is a working draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

Two different relationships

This policy covers two groups of people, and the difference matters.

Business owners who sign up for GetWorkPaid. For their data we are the controller: we decide what we collect and why.

Customers who book with one of those businesses. For their data the business is the controller and we are the processor — we hold it and act on that business's instructions. A request to see or delete that information is answered by the business, and we help them do it.

What we collect from a business owner

Your name and email, your business name, the town you work in, what you do, your services and prices, and your subscription status. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.

What we collect when somebody books

Name, email address, phone number, the address the work is at, any entry notes and anything else the customer chooses to add, plus the time and price of the booking. It is collected so the business can do the work and get in touch about it. It goes to that business. It is not sold, and it is not shared with other businesses on GetWorkPaid.

Verifying an email address

A first booking sends a link to the email address given, to confirm it is real, before the request reaches the business. The link expires.

How long it is kept

Booking records are kept while the business is a customer of ours, so they have their own job history. Requests that were never verified, and bookings that were declined or cancelled, are removed after 12 months.

Having your information removed

A customer can ask the business they booked with to delete their details, or ask us and we will pass it on. A business owner can delete a customer and their history from their own dashboard, and can close their account, which removes their site, their bookings and their customer list.

Who else sees it

Our hosting and database provider (Supabase), our application host (Vercel), our payment processor (Stripe) and our email provider. Each holds it to provide that part of the service and for no other purpose.
